Tutored Whiskey Tasting
The Tutored Whiskey Tasting is what made Vanek Whiskey Events famous.
Guests are greeted by the beautiful sights and enticing smells of whiskey-filled glasses when they first enter the room. More of an experience than just a “tasting”, this event also focuses on the importance of understanding how we perceive flavour, which we highlight using fun, eye-opening experiments involving beer, chocolate, and malt samples, just to name a few.
Your guests will be as entertained as they are engaged during this upscale event that tells the story of whiskey in a refreshing new way.
The Deconstructed Whiskey Experience
If interactive and experiential are event characteristics high on your wish list, then this one-of-a-kind whiskey tasting is for you! With a focus on how you drink, rather than the typical “what” you drink, guests will “deconstruct” their whiskey drinking experience and have fun releasing their inner scientist in the process.
Using the same brand of spirit throughout the event, guests will conduct side-by-side comparisons of several popular ways of drinking whiskey. They will also gain a new appreciation of how they perceive flavour, as they engage in a variety of sensory experiments that will keep them as captivated as they will be entertained.
By the end of the event, guests will discover that the manner they drink whiskey is as important a contributor to their flavour experience as the choice of whiskey itself, and perhaps even more so.
Whiskey Tasting Bar
The Whiskey Tasting Bar is a fantastic way to add an atmosphere of elegance to an event. This speciality bar station provides guests with an interactive whiskey experience that is both exciting and informative. It balances entertainment with content on an individual guest basis, ensuring the perfect guest experience regardless of their whiskey knowledge or level of interest.
Guests are treated to a curated selection of fantastic whiskeys, which have been chosen to pair wonderfully with the event. It holds its own as a function’s main entertainment, or it can be included with other entertainment elements at larger gatherings.
The Whiskey Tasting Bar is the perfect catalyst as a conversation starter for an evening of high-class mingling, networking, and relationship building.
Experiential Manhattan Bar
Think ice cream sundae bar for adults, only the sundae ingredients have been swopped for those that make upscale Manhattan Cocktails. Just like you customize a sundae by selecting the ice cream, sauce, and toppings, drink personalization is in full force at our Experiential Manhattan Bar.
Guests begin their mixology adventure by selecting either a peppery, smoky, or sweet whiskey style to form the base of their drink. They then choose from a selection of premium bitters and types of Vermouth. The cocktail is finished with their choice of gourmet cocktail cherries and is served with an oversized ice cube. By the end of their Manhattan bar experience, guests will have discovered the joy of playing with their food (drinks) and learned that the right Maraschino Cherry can indeed be life-changing.

Whiskey and cigars have long been enjoyed together. Enjoying them together at an event, however, is almost impossible to do. Until now!
Vanek Whiskey Events and One King West Hotel & Residences, along with Havana Castle Cigars, have created a unique evening of indulgence for you and your guests at a very special venue.
With breathtaking views from its private wraparound terrace, One King West’s “Suite 1500” is a beautiful contemporary space in the heart of downtown Toronto. With only a retractable glass wall separating outdoor cigar enjoyment from the sampling of whiskey and delicious food inside, this event add-on is available with any of our whiskey tasting options.
Please note, that limited seasonal dates are available, from May to early October.
